What A Magical Birthday Surprise!

 Students surprised me with a VERY SPECIAL birthday poster filled with LOTS of LOVE and LOTS of ORANGE!!!  I am soooooo LUCKY to have such a MAGICAL & AMAZING class!!!  Thank you Fabulous Fourth Graders!!!🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

We Are A Strong Community!

We decided to create a mural that celebrates what an incredible community we have become!  It was fun to look at pictures from the year and all the memories we have already shared!

FOCUS!

We have been learning how to sound out and spell tough words by learning how to break words into syllables.  Students noticed that if they didn't understand how syllables work, they would think the word FOCUS was pronounced "Fah-cus" because there is no vowel team or silent e to make the O say its name.  But because we know "FO" is an open syllable, we know how to read and say the word FOCUS correctly!  We are AMAZING syllable decoders!!!

The word FOCUS/FAH-CUS has become an inside joke; now we are always telling each other to "fah-cus"!  Just for fun and to help us "fah-cus", we decided to make a poster for our classroom!  We are always having fun in Fourth grade!❤

We Are Researching Animals As We Prepare To Write Nonfiction Books!

Students are learning how to organize their notes, put facts in their own words and cite sources.  Everyone is doing incredible work & learning a lot!!!

 If you see someone let go of a ruler; how far will the ruler drop before you can catch it?  Ask your Fourth Grader about the other cool things we tried, like reading words that look like this: ORANGE  BLUE  RED
