Mr. Alberghini Came To Tell Us A Story To Help Us Celebrate The Publishing Of Our Books!

Have you heard the one about the bear & the frying pan?!?!  AMAZING!!!

We Finished Our Poem!

To help us come together as a community, we reflected on who we are as individuals and who we are as a community.  In addition to writing our poem, we created dots, inspired by Peter H. Reynold's book The Dot.  The dots dance through our poem to remind us that we are creative people who can do anything we set our minds to!

What We've Been Up To: Watch The Video To Get A Window Into Our Classroom!

We have been taking time to get outside, practice mindfulness & strengthen our community, as we become stronger readers, writers & mathematicians!

Inspired by Andy Goldsworthy, we created art with nature as we practiced mindfulness outside.

We shared our core values & beliefs, & discussed how our values help us to be kinder people who are flexible & support one another.

We wrote a poem about where we come from, making connections while playing with writer's craft.  We are also working on making dots to surround our poem, inspired by Peter H. Reynold's The Dot.  The dots are there to remind us that we can do anything we set our minds to, we just have to believe in ourselves!

We are supporting each other as we finish our stories and get ready to make our books!

And we are enjoying our realistic fiction books and thinking more deeply about the texts we read!

Lt. Margaret Taylor & The Other Nurses On The USNS Comfort Love Getting Your Mail!!! @resvt #VTED #Community #distancelearning #USNSComfort

Robert's mom just shared this note from their cousin Lt. Margaret Taylor.  She, along with everyone on the ship, have really appreciated receiving your mail!  You can continue to write them letters or send them jokes or pictures.  They have been working hard; they are now also treating patients with the Coronavirus.  They appreciate all of the love you can send their way.

I wanted to also thank you for sending my mailing address to Robert’s classmates & friends in Vermont. We love all the artwork & fun cards. They have brought joy to our ward. We look forward to mail call during the week to see if there are any new letters with fun jokes, cartoon stories, or drawings. We have posted them around the nurses' station. The patients are able to appreciate them too as they walk around. I hope to be able to write some of them back as soon as I receive stationery from Mikey in the mail.

Attached is a picture of some of my coworkers showing their appreciation. Just know that we are smiling under our masks. I hope you and the family are doing well, keeping safe and sane.

Much love,
Cousin Margaret
