Our Class Is Always Thinking About How We Can Spread Love And Make This World A Better, More Loving Place!

On Friday, the day I had planned didn't quite happen.  Students have been so moved by the work of Martin Luther King they felt the need to spread love and march on Friday.  So we changed our plan for the day, we took time to make posters, we invited the school to join us, and we marched to spread our words of love, acceptance, and our need for equality.  Here is a video of our process.  I am so deeply proud of our amazing kids!!!!!

Students Asked If They Could March, So We Marched!

Students made posters that spread messages of love and equality.  RES and CHMS students and staff supported us as we shared our message of love.  We have a goal of spreading love and doing something kind for others on Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.

Snow Motion Starts the Week of January 18th!

Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder that Snow Motion starts on Thursday, January 21st for Mrs. LeFrancois' Class.  Here is a link to the schedule

Please make sure to send your child to school with layers of warm clothing.  Long socks are great. Gloves, jacket, thermal or long underwear if you have them.  Neck warmer or balaclava are great!  I don't have extra goggles but bring them if you have them. Ski/snowboard boots and helmets should come to school with your child on Snow Motion days if they are bringing their own gear.  Otherwise Mr. G will provide your child with equipment.

Make sure to label your skis!  Also if your child is bringing their own equipment, let them know where you will be leaving their skis/snowboard.  Often younger students are not sure what their skis look like.  Rack on top of the stairs is the best place to leave gear.

Mr. G will have skis/boots ready to go for kids who are borrowing gear. Everything will be waiting for kids slopeside when they arrive.

We will  do our best to let you know the day ahead of time if Snow Motion is canceled.  If the weather is in doubt, I typically cancel.  We will cancel due to sub zero temps, heavy wind, ice, etc

Thanks!  Please let me know if you have questions.

Fake It 'Til You BECOME It! Tiny Tweaks Can Make BIG CHANGES In Our Lives! @resvt @amyjccuddy @TEDTalks #PowerPose #Confidence

Today we learned that how we hold our body impacts not only how others feel about us, it affects how we feel about ourselves.  We learned that when we sit up straight and stand tall, we are more confident, and therefore, more successful!  We understand that we don't have to "fake it 'til we make it", we can "fake it 'til we BECOME it"!  We can become the person we want to be!  We learned that small changes in how we hold our bodies can have a huge impact on our lives!

You can watch the video on your own or with your child, and support each other in feeling more confident.  Because it is a long video, we skipped parts & talked about what she did and learned.  This is a wonderful video to continue to discuss and think more deeply about.
We will do "Power Poses" all year, especially before we take tests or when we feel nervous about a task.  I encourage you to try them out and see how you feel!

You can watch the entire video, or you can skip these parts to make it shorter, but still get the message.
